   Sammanfattning : In the current development of coherent optical communication systems, nonlinear noise is considered to be the ultimate bottleneck when extending the transmission length.    Sammanfattning : Insertion devices have several undesirable effects on the beam dynamics of a synchrotron storage ring, and these must be compensated for in order to ensure long term stable operation.
