2. Flexible Sector Coupling (FSC) of Electrical and Thermal Sectors via Thermal Energy Storage (TES) : A Case Study on Oskarshamn Energi
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : The integration of distributed energy sources and systems is of high relevance for the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. Taking into consideration the amount of emissions produced by the heating sector, which account for at least half of the energy demand in buildings, district heating systems have the potential to play a key role in the transition, by enabling the integration of various energy sources and provide flexible energy services to the grid. 3. Simulation of Quantum Cascade Lasers
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysikSammanfattning : This thesis aimed to contribute to the improvement of Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) by focusing on the effective determination of quantum levels in these devices. The current method relies on an outdated Fortran code, which poses challenges when integrating into optimization schemes. LÄS MER
4. Multi-Scale Topology Optimization of Lattice Structures Using Machine Learning
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad mekanikSammanfattning : This thesis explores using multi-scale topology optimization (TO) by utilizing inverse homogenization to automate the adjustment of each unit-cell's geometry and placement in a lattice structure within a pressure vessel (the design domain) to achieve desired structural properties. The aim is to find the optimal material distribution within the design domain as well as desired material properties at each discretized element and use machine learning (ML) to map microstructures with corresponding prescribed effective properties. 5. Conform with the Wind : Processing short-term ensemble forecasts with conformal based methods for probabilistic wind-speed forecasting
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : Forecasting wind has always been an interesting subject, and as large parts of the world are relying more on wind for power production it is becoming even more important to have reliable forecasts. Probabilistic forecasts, where distributions are predicted in contrast to deterministic forecasts, are impor- tant for informed decision making. LÄS MER
