  1. 1. Image Segmentation and Object Identification in Cancer Tissue Slides from Fluorescence Microscopy

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen Vi3

    Författare :Sebastian Eriksson; Fredrik Forsberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :image analysis; cancer research; fluorescent microscopy; image segmentation; bildanalys; cancerforskning; fluorescensmikroskopi; bildsegmentering;

    Sammanfattning : In cancer research, there is a need to make accurate spatial measurements in multi-layered fluorescence microscopy images. Researchers would like to measure distances in and between biological objects such as nerves and tumours, to investigate questions which includes if nerve distribution in and around tumours can have a prognostic value in cancer diagnostics. 2. 2. GIS and remote sensing based mapping of microtopography and vegetation composition in a boreal mire complex

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Nils Helge Havertz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Microtopography modelling; Remote sensing; Boreal mixed mires; Object Based Image Analysis OBIA ; random forest RF ;

    Sammanfattning : Small scale variations in mire surface elevation referred to as microtopography are fundamental characteristics of mire ecosystems especially in the boreal region. Microtopography commonly classified into hummocks and hollows play a major role in several ecological, hydrological and biogeochemical processes including vegetation composition and carbon and methane dynamics. 3. 3. Carta ex Machina: Testing object-based machine learning and unsupervised classification in land use change detection mapping in the semi-arid governorate of Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Kristian Emil Havnsgaard Paludan; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Change detection; Land use mapping; LANDSAT MSS; LANDSAT TM; GEOBIA; Random Forest classification; ISODATA cluster classification; Object-based classification; Semi-arid agriculture; Irrigation mapping; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia is an inland governorate in Tunisia that has undergone a rapid agricultural and urban development since the Tunisian independence in 1952 from being a rural and largely nomadic region into a hub of irrigated agriculture. In 2010 Mohamed Bouazizi sparked the Tunisian revolution by lighting himself on fire int he city of Sidi Bouzid, with some blaming the inequality and water scarcity created by this rapid expansion in the irrigation farming as an important cause (Bayat, 2017; Malka, 2018). 4. 4. Investigating Sand Dune Location, Orientation and Geomorphometry Through GEOBIA-Based Mapping: A Case Study in Northern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Melanie Stammler; [2020]
    Nyckelord :sand dunes; geomorphological mapping; object-based image analysis; landscape development; sanddyner; geomorfologisk kartläggning; geografisk objektbaserad bildanalys; landskapsutveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change has repeatedly been framed as the defining issue of the Anthropocene and with the Arctic changing at unpreceded speed need is high for a profound understanding of the Northern Swedish landscape. Northern Swedish aeolian sand dunes have been impacted by climatic changes throughout time. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Forest stand delineation through remote sensing and Object-Based Image Analysis

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Gävle/Samhällsbyggnad, GIS

    Författare :José Antonio Ortega-García; [2018]
    Nyckelord :forest stand; stand delineation; LiDAR; ASTER; OBIA; GIS; remote sensing; segmentation; canopy heigh model; forestry; Navarra; OBIA; LiDAR; ASTER; segmentación; rodal; forestal; SIG; teledetección;

    Sammanfattning : Forest stand delineation is an essential task of forest management planning which can be time consuming and exposed to subjectivity. The increasing availability of LiDAR data and multispectral imagery offers an opportunity to improve stand delineation by means of remotely-sensed data. LÄS MER
