  1. 1. Active flow control of the turbulent boundary layer over a NACA4412 wing profile for skin friction drag reduction

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Teknisk mekanik

    Författare :Giacomo Semprini Cesari; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Active flow control; drag reduction; numerical simulations; turbulent boundary layer; wings;

    Sammanfattning : In the context of building a framework for active flow control of turbulent boundary layers in wings, a set of large-eddy simulation (LES) are implemented in OpenFOAM. The flow around a NACA4412 wing profile is simulated at 5° angle of attack and Re_c = 400˙000. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dyslexia, ADHD and Educational Attainment using Polygenic Score: A Meta-analysis

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Simon Lindhagen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :developmental dyslexia; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; educational attainment; polygenic score; meta-analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Developmental Dyslexia (DD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Educational Attainment (EA) are highly prevalent conditions that have a significant impacton individuals' academic and social functioning. These conditions have a complex genetic basis and are often comorbid. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Association between cognitive measures, global brain surface area, genetics, and screen-time in young adolescents : Estimation of causal inference with machine learning

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Evgenija Kravchenko; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Causal modelling; DirectLiNGAM; PGS; intelligence; screen time; cognitive development; Kausal modellering; DirectLiNGAM; PGS; intelligens; skärmtid; kognitiv utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Screen media activity such as watching TV and videos, playing video games, and using social media has become a popular leisure activity for children and adolescents. The effect of screen time has been a highly debated topic; however, there is still very little known about it. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Injuries and Illnesses in Swedish Para Athletes During the Paralympic Games 2012-2018

    Master-uppsats, Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan, GIH/Institutionen för fysisk aktivitet och hälsa

    Författare :Sara Dahlén; [2021]
    Nyckelord :sports medicine; incidence rate; monitor athlete health; Para ice hockey;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The aim of the study was to analyse the injuries and illnesses in Swedish Para athletes during four Paralympic Games (PG), 2012-2018. The research questions (RQ) were: 1) what was the injury incident rate (IR), and which anatomical areas were affected by injuries? 2) what was the illness IR and which physiological systems were affected by illnesses? 3) did the injury and illness IR differ between the Swedish delegation and the reference group (RG), where most athletes participating in the four PGs were included? 4) were there any associations between injury and illness IR and subgroups of athletes? Method: A retrospective analysis of data from a large ongoing prospective study of injuries and illnesses initiated by the International Paralympic Committee in 2012. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The creation of a democratic food certification : How the Slow Food Participatory Guarantee System attempts to defend local food systems and traditions

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Greta Borrelli; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Participatory Guarantee System; Food certifications; Food standards; Organic movement; Organic certification; Slow Food; Presidia project; Biocultural heritage; Food heritage; Traditional food knowledge; Governmentality; Empowerment;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores if and how an alternative certification system for agricultural products, the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS), could support small-scale farmers to preserve and promote biocultural and food heritage, linked to the landscape they inhabit, their identity as farmers and traditional knowledge. The PGS has been identified by Slow Food as an efficient low-cost and local 'bottom-up' quality assurance system, in order to develop their Presidia project and to re-embed agricultural productions within their traditional socio-ecological contexts.
