21. Indoor and Outdoor Measurements of Particulate Matter with the Low-Cost Optical Sensor OPC-N3
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : This paper evaluates the low-cost optical sensor OPC-N3 from Alphasense as a suitable scientific instrument for measuring particulate matter levels in air, both outdoors and in- doors. The time-keeping and data-retrieval was additionally improved by connecting the OPC-N3 to an Arduino microcontroller equipped with a real-time clock (RTC) module and an external SD card. LÄS MER
22. Environmental justice: are socially vulnerable more likely to be exposed to air pollution? Evidence from Poland
D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomiSammanfattning : According to previous literature, this is the first study that uses quantitative methods to analyse the correlation between air pollution and socioeconomic deprivation in Poland. Using ordinary least squares (OLS) model and cross-sectional data from 2018, gathered from the European Environment Agency and Statistics Poland, I arrive at two main results. LÄS MER
23. Life cycle assessment of coal based direct-reduced iron production in India
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : The production of iron through direct reduction (Direct-Reduced Iron; DRI) involves the use of natural gas or coal to reduce iron ore to iron through carbothermic reactions at a temperature below its melting point, negating the need for a blast furnace as otherwise required. In India, around 25% of iron is produced through direct reduction. LÄS MER
24. DISTRICT HEAT PRICE MODEL ANALYSIS : A risk assesment of Mälarenergi's new district heat price model
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknikSammanfattning : Energy efficiency measures in buildings and alternative heating methods have led to a decreased demand for district heating (DH). Furthermore, due to a recent increase in extreme weather events, it is harder for DH providers to maintain a steady production leading to increased costs. These issues have led DH companies to change their price models. LÄS MER
25. Air pollution emitted during traditional coffee ceremonies in Ethiopia, a health risk for women
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildningSammanfattning : Indoor air pollution is a problem of great concern, estimating to cause around 2 million premature deaths, with 400.000 cases suspected to happen in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this thesis, indoor air pollution emissions associated with the Ethiopian traditional coffee ceremony has been studied as a model for cooking exposure. LÄS MER
