1. Minskning av palsmyrar som resultat av klimatförändringar i norra Sverige mellan 1960–2020
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : The climate is changing at a rapid rate. This causes both an increase in temperature and precipitation in the northern high latitudes. Subarctic peatlands contain 30% of the carbon storage in the northern permafrost zone. LÄS MER
2. Identifying active water flow paths in a tropical wetland with radar remote sensing data (wetland interferometry) : The case of the Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta, Colombia
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Despite being one of the most productive ecosystems on earth, wetland areas have been heavily affected by human activities. The Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta (CGSM) in Colombia is one of these wetlands, where the inadequate construction of roads modified the hydrology and connectivity of this water body, generating massive mangrove mortality episodes. 3. A 2D Electrical Resistivity Survey of Palsas in Tavvavuoma, sub-arctic Sweden
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a commonly used geophysical method to investigate permafrost in the mountain environment, but few studies have employed this method in a permafrost affected peatland. For this thesis, 5 ERT profiles were measured over 17 palsas and peat-plateaus in a palsa peatland environment in Tavvavuoma, northern Sweden, where the primary aim was to investigate the depth to the base of permafrost under the mounds. 4. Comparison and Fusion of space borne L-, C- and X- Band SAR Images for Damage Identification in the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake
Master-uppsats, KTH/Geodesi och geoinformatikSammanfattning : Remote sensing has been widely used in disaster management. However, application of optical imageries in damage detection is not always feasible for immediate damage assessment. In the case of the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, the damaged areas were covered by cloud and fog for most of the time. LÄS MER
5. Mapping of Floodplains in the Atankwidi River Basin
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : The Atankwidi River Basin is situated in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The Basin has an area of around 275 km2. The semiarid climate in which the Atankwidi is situated is characterized by one rainy season spanning from April to September and one dry season spanning from September to April. LÄS MER
