    Sammanfattning : Art has the ability to give voice to the vast number of ordinary citizens suffering undertotalitarian rule in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, both past and present. Thispaper uses a mixed-analysis approach to examine three selected examples of visualrepresentations concerning the North Korean Refugee Movement in order to illustrate howArt functions as a strategic component of C4D, and how it can be effectively used by socialmovements as a way of framing movements’ identities in collective action, promotingawareness and enhancing resource mobilisation through the emotive communication ofknowledge.
