  1. 1. Human Exposure to Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl : Substances through Fish Consumption

    Master-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Welmoed Nauta; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances; Human exposure; Fish consumption; Glasbruket; Target analysis; Mass balance analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Human exposure to per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) occurs mainly through two pathways, inhalation and ingestion. Dietary exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs), including PFAS, is driven mainly by the consumption of foods of marine or terrestrial animal origin. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Do selected CF3-containing pharmaceuticals oxidize to trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)? – Analysis of ultra-short perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) and their analytical challenges following oxidation

    Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Johanna Gillberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Total oxidizable precursor assay (TOPA) has been used to understand the contribution of unknown precursors to the extractable organofluorine (EOF) compounds. The investigation of compounds containing a CF3 moiety especially connected to an aromatic ring is important because any compounds with such a moiety (pharmaceuticals) may oxidize to form trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). 3. 3. Quantification of target per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) and extractable organic fluorine (EOF) in crayfish from Lake Vättern, Sweden.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Wilma Villbrand; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFASs) are a family of persistent organic pollutants in which the aliphatic carbon chains have been fluorinated, either completely or partially. One subclass of PFASs are perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs), in which perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs) and perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids (PFSAs) are two prominent groups. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Total oxidizable precursor assay: Applications and limitations. A study on the occurrence of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in Chinese Wastewater Treatment Plants

    Master-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Pontus Larsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Total oxidizable precursor (TOP) assay is an in-lab method which oxidatively converts precursor compounds of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) into measurable perfluorinated alkyl acids (PFAAs). The method is a very strong tool to semi-quantify PFASs that would otherwise be missed in conventional targeted analysis using liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Determinants of serum perfluoroalkyl acid concentrations in Swedish adolescents and the importance of drinking water as a source of exposure

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Jennifer Nyström; [2019]
    Nyckelord :perfluoroalkyl acids; PFAAs; adolescents; determinants; exposure; drinking water;

    Sammanfattning : The persistent and toxic perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are ubiquitously present in the environment and reach humans predominantly via food and drinking water. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of low-grade (<10 ng L-1 of single PFAAs) contaminated PFAAs drinking water on serum PFAA concentrations in a representative Swedish adolescent population, and to examine the influence of potential determinants on the variation of the PFAAs serum concentrations.
