1. How distributional equity affects evolutionarily sustainable landscape management
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskapSammanfattning : As the human population rapidly grows, ensuring food availability for everyone will require substantial agricultural intensification in a sustainable manner. This must however be achieved without negatively impacting ecosystems or stakeholders' (e.g. farmers) livelihoods. LÄS MER
2. Predicting Chemical-Gene Interactions
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskapSammanfattning : Pesticide use in agriculture has become a growing concern as it can have detrimental effects on the environment. The excessive use of these chemicals often leads to them seeping into nearby water bodies, causing harm to aquatic organisms. LÄS MER
3. ANALYS OCH IDENTIFIERING AV BEKÄMPNINGSMEDEL I HISTORISKA TEXTILIER
Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvårdSammanfattning : This essay will investigate the risks associated with pesticide contamination in textile collections and how information about pesticide content can be found. Uniforms from the collection of the now closed Gothenburg military museum was analysed using Dosa test strips for chloride content, XRF-analysis and ATR-FTIR analysis. LÄS MER
4. Ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming in the Mekong Delta , Vietnam
Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Pesticide use in rice farming is a common practice in the Mekong Delta and poses ecological risks to aquatic organisms, the environment, and human health. This study focused on the ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming using the PRIMET model as a decision support tool to evaluate the risks of pesticide exposure, ecotoxicity, and risk characterization, as well as employing the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) assessment model to calculate the potentially affected fraction (PAF) of species based on the computed predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) from PRIMET. 5. Detecting Pollutants Using Vibrations : Laser Doppler Vibrometry as a Non-Invasive Soil Organism Health Monitoring Method
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : Due to a lack of in-situ methods capable of detecting sub-lethal effects of pollutants on soil organisms, many polluted environments are not identified prior to pollution-induced changes in the soil fauna. Therefore, there is a need to develop new non-invasive methods to measure the health of soil organisms. LÄS MER
