1. Total Monte Carlo of the fission model in GEF and its influence on the nuclear evaporation in TALYS
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysikSammanfattning : Features recently added to the nuclear reaction software TALYS allow the use of the GEF model as a fission fragment generator. GEF generates data for fission fragment yields, total excitation energy (TXE), total kinetic energy (TKE) and individual fragment excitation energies (E*) with their standard deviations through Monte Carlo simulations for TALYS. 2. Benchmarking fission rate simulations through comparison with neutron activation data
L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysikSammanfattning : Metal foils were implemented in a measurement of neutron-induced fission at the IGISOL facility in 2016. These foils were activated by a neutron flux during the experiment and measured after the beam was turned off. The radioactive products from the neutron activation were identified in an analysis of γ-ray spectroscopy data. LÄS MER
3. Jakten på benen : Experimentell undersökning av geokemiska förändringar i gravar med brända ben med pXRF
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Arkeologiska forskningslaboratorietSammanfattning : This study deals with the phenomenon of graves without any bone material combined with an application test of a portable X-Ray fluorescence detector (pXRF) instrument on simulated burial soils to see if we could get any closer understanding of this phenomenon. To test the instruments applicability on these types of conditions, an experiment was conducted with three different soil types. LÄS MER
4. A Questionnaire Study on Patient Knowledge on X-ray Radiation Effects on Human Health from Dental Radiographic Examination
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för odontologiSammanfattning : Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has suggested guide-lines regarding information to individuals who undergo radiographic examinations. The guide-lines concerns medical care but patients in dental care can also be expected to have a wish to be informed about ionizing radiation. LÄS MER
5. Burning Images The Metaphor of Fire in Literature
Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för språk och litteraturerSammanfattning : Abstract: Fire is often used as a metaphor, both in everyday language and in literature. This essay aims to investigate the properties of this metaphor in a literary context through analysis of two novels, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and The Great Fire of London by Peter Ackroyd.
