The concept was established in a government report 1982 with a proposal that meant strengthening the Church of Sweden's presence in the armed forces in exchange for the Church of Sweden being responsible for part of the salaries. Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för teologi och religionsvetenskapSammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis has been to investigate the liturgical practices of the Paschal candle in five different congregations within the Church of Sweden, and to analyse the underlying reasons for those practices; how and when is the Paschal candle used within the liturgy, and how is its usage interpreted and motivated by the congregations’ ministers and sextons? The thesis bases its findings on in-depth interviews with five ministers and five sextons, and discusses these findings in relation to liturgical theology, especially Gordon W. In this thesis, I put Jezebel in her context: historical, religious, social, political, and try to discern the following aspects: • How is Isebel as a character depicted in the Bible? • Why is she depicted in this way? • What can we know about Isebel as a historical person and how do we know? My conclusion is that while Jezebel might not be a pleasant person and can surely be seen as a symbol for a power hungry and disrespectful ruler, there is more to her than meets the eye. LÄS MER
