    Sammanfattning : New data shows that there is genetic continuity between the Scandinavian Mesolithic Ertebølle culture and the Scandinavian Neolithic Pitted Ware culture. To examine whether it is possible to demonstrate the continuity in other aspects than the genetic, this paper examines graves from three Mesolithic grave fields (Skateholm I & II and Vedbæk) and two Neolithic grave fields (Ajvide and Västerbjers), their burial customs and ritual practices.     Sammanfattning : This essay provides an overview of the findings from the Pitted Ware settlement Kärja (RAÄ-nr Västerhaninge 28:1, L-nr L2014:4173) on southeast of Södertörn, East Middle Sweden. The archaeological materials from the settlements are analyzed with anthropological theories regarding kinship and exchanges, combined with a social-constructive perspective of conventional categorizations and chronology.
