  1. 1. Investigation of the Microstructure of Plastically Deformed Cemented Carbide

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Felicia Larsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During machining operation, cemented carbide tools are exposed to high loads and temperatures, which eventually leads to plastic deformation of the tool material. The aim of this work was to investigate if the microstructures of creep deformed micro grain cemented carbides can be linked to alloying elements and mechanical properties. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Design of cooling-air permeable coil support

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Författare :Rozbeh Ghassemi; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Topology optimization; FEM-simulations; CFD-simulations; Material selection; Topologioptimering; FEM-simuleringar; CFD-simuleringar; Materialval;

    Sammanfattning : Coil supports are integral load-bearing components employed in generators andmotors. They serve the purpose of preventing excessive deformation and maintaininga stable position of the coils responsible for generating power and magnetic fieldswhen rotating. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Plastic deformation of hot riveted joints acting in shear

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Författare :Victor Gard; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A popular way to maintain old rivet connections is to reuse the old connection and replace the old rivets with high grade steel bolts. In doing so the behavior of the joint can change due to the new geometry, where a gap between the new bolt and the rivet hole emerges. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cryogenic properties of additive manufactured austenitic stainless steels for space applications

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Patricio Piantanida; [2023]
    Nyckelord :austenitic stainless steel; additive manufacturing; cryogenic;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanical properties of three austenitic stainless steel alloys, namely 21-6-9, 316L and a modifed 316, fabricated via laser powder bed fusion, have been studied. From the results previously obtained through tensile tests at room and cryogenic temperatures, their strength and ductility were compared against similar conventionally processed materials. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Study of Porosity in Uncoated Cemented Carbide Tools During Titanium Alloy Machining.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Industriell Produktion

    Författare :Cornelis Botermans; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : During high speed machining of titanium alloys both the tool and workpiece material diffuse into one another affecting the surface integrity of the cutting tool edge and leading to fracture. One proposed mechanism by which the tool integrity is compromised results from the possible formation of porosity in to subsurface of the tool substrate close to the tool cutting edge. LÄS MER
