  1. 1. The pig as an animal model for kidney transplantation

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Martina Zakariasson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :pig; kidney; transplantation; rejection; ischemia reperfusion;

    Sammanfattning : A significant amount of the world’s population suffers from chronic kidney disease. Renal failure arises when less than 25 % of the kidneys function properly. The treatments available for humans that suffer from renal failure are dialysis or renal transplantation, of which transplantation is considered to be the treatment of choice. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ekvin osteochondros : riskfaktorer och deras interaktioner

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Författare :Alina Silventoinen; [2016]
    Nyckelord :häst; osteochondros; etiologi; riskfaktorer; equine; osteochondrosis; aetiology; risk factors;

    Sammanfattning : Osteochondros (OC) är en sjukdom som orsakas av en fokal störning i den endokondrala benbildningen då brosk fungerar som mall till långa rörben. Sjukdomen förekommer hos unga, snabbt växande individer och har påvisats bl.a. hos häst, nöt, svin, hund, katt, råtta och människa. LÄS MER

  3. 3. In vitro inhibition of CYP1A and CYP3A by phenolic compounds from bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), in male and female porcine liver microsomes

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Food Science

    Författare :Felicia Woll; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Cytokrom P450; CYP1A; CYP3A; blåbär Vaccinium myrtillus ; läkemedelsinteraktioner; Myricetin; Isorhamnetin; Quercetin;

    Sammanfattning : Bilberry fruit (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a rich source of bioactive compounds, including flavonols and phenolic acids. At least some of these compounds were shown to be metabo-lized in the liver by cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzyme system, which is also important in the metabolism of pharmaceuticals. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A porcine type 1 Diabetes Mellitus model, for non-invasive in vivo imaging of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor in the pancreas, using [68Ga]Ga-DO3A-VS-Cys40-conjugated synthetic exendin-4 in PET-CT

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Susanne Andréasson; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Exendin-4; GLP-1R; pig; beta cell imaging; beta cell mass; Exendin-4; gris; betacellsmassan; PET-CT;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus is a rising epidemic throughout the world and there is currently great interest in quantifying the beta-cell mass (BCM) in vivo non-invasively. In the present experiment, the feasibility of in vivo imaging of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) in beta-cells was examined, using the positron emission tomography (PET) tracer [68Ga]Ga-DO3A-VS-Cys40-exendin-4 as a marker, in native pancreatic beta-cells of a porcine diabetic animal model and healthy controls. 5. 5. The pig as an animal model for type 1 Diabetes Mellitus – with focus on carbohydrate and fat metabolism

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Elin Manell; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Porcine animal model; hyperglycemia; insulin; treatment; C-peptide; glucose; NEFA; triglyceride; diabetic ketoacidosis;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus is an endocrine disorder affecting a range of different mammals, including dogs, cats, horses and humans. Worldwide, 347 million people have diabetes, and the disease is an increasing burden on the world’s poorest countries. LÄS MER
