Special attention is paid to the lakes Dammsjön and Värlingen in mid Sweden, where the sediments were contaminated after a breach in a nearby tailings dam used for storing residue from a metal processing plant. The purpose of this report was to examine suitable solid lubricants for Erasteel, a company that manufactures hot isostatic pressed high speed steels, that will enhance the tribological properties of their steels without worsening the mechanical properties.     Sammanfattning : This project explores the feasibility of the solid-state welding method direct-drive friction welding to be used as a joining method for the nitrogen alloyed steel Uddeholm Vanax SuperClean, produced via processes based on powder metallurgy. Vanax SuperClean cannot be welded using fusion welding methods where the base material melts, due to nitrogen escaping the material, resulting in inferior quality welds. LÄS MER
