  1. 1. Impact of nitrogen availability and nitrogen structural composition on fungal enzymatic activity and growth : how nutrient availability governs response and development of three saprotrophic Basidiomycetes

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Bella Strid; [2024]
    Nyckelord :nitrogen; tannins; condensed tannins; MnP; manganese peroxidase; peptidase; saprotrophic basidiomycetes;

    Sammanfattning : Fungi excrete a wide variety of extracellular enzymes to scavenge for nutrients, such as the often scarce yet essential nutrient nitrogen. All fungi produce highly specialized hydrolytic enzymes, e.g. peptidases, that depolymerize organic molecules. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Examining the Impact of Regional Wildfires on Environmental Concern and Support for Carbon Tax- Empirical Findings from Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Författare :Sofie Hedin Stenvall; Clara Lundberg; [2023-06-29]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Climate-driven changes in the severity of wildfires are predicted as greenhouse gas concentrations increase. Exposure to local wildfires may represent a source of information for individuals as they evaluate their environmental concerns and support for carbon taxation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The impact of CO2 fertilisation on foliage in West and East Africa

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Gaetane Demyttenaere; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical geography and ecosystem analysis; CO2 fertilisation; semi-arid ecosystems; remote sensing; Normalised Difference Vegetation Index; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic impact on terrestrial ecosystems continues to grow as we further enhance atmospheric Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) concentrations. The changing climatic conditions and direct influence of CO₂ on vegetation has a big impact on ecosystem functions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming in the Mekong Delta , Vietnam

    Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Bubaraye Ohiosimuan Dirikumo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pesticides; Ecological Risk Assessment ERA ; rice farming; Mekong Delta; PRIMET Model; Exposure Toxicity Ratio ETR ; species sensitivity distribution SSD ; predicted environmental concentrations PECs ;

    Sammanfattning : Pesticide use in rice farming is a common practice in the Mekong Delta and poses ecological risks to aquatic organisms, the environment, and human health. This study focused on the ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming using the PRIMET model as a decision support tool to evaluate the risks of pesticide exposure, ecotoxicity, and risk characterization, as well as employing the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) assessment model to calculate the potentially affected fraction (PAF) of species based on the computed predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) from PRIMET. 5. 5. Finding ways of optimizing coagulant dosage, for a more sustainable wastewater treatment process

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Hanna Sjöman; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wastewater treatment process; coagulant dosage; COD; machine learning; water and environmental engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The wastewater treatment process at Oatly consists of several treatment steps of which, two are chemical treatment steps involving coagulation followed by flotation to remove phosphorous and COD. The coagulant dosage is mainly determined based on the operator’s experience and supported using results from jar tests. LÄS MER
