  1. 1. Home range- and behavioural analysis of the Saddleback tamarin (Leontocebus fuscicollis) in Madre de Dios, Peru

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning; Uppsala universitet/Zooekologi

    Författare :Marianne Kristine Nymark; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Saddleback tamarin; Leontocebus fuscicollis; behaviour; behavior; home range;

    Sammanfattning : 60% of primates in the world are threatened with extinction, while 75% have declining populations. The biggest threats to primates are the result of human activity. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of monkey fat tissues : To assist their viability for fat intra-body communication as an early step of non-human primate testing (NHP)

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Författare :Qsai Alyounes; Alkari Razan; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Fat-IBC; Monkey tissues; Phantoms; Network analyzer; Dielectric proporties;

    Sammanfattning : Fat intra-body communication is a newly proven concept that is built on using human fat tissues as a communication channel for electromagnetic waves inside the body. This allows for two implanted external devices to connect through an intra-body closed-loop communication channel. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Models for predicting efflux transport over the blood-brain barrier

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för farmaci

    Författare :Marjaneh Janani; [2020]
    Nyckelord :efflux transport; brain; blood-brain-barrier; Verapamil; Risperidone; Prazosin;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The general aim of this research is development and evaluation of novel methods for predicting active transport over the human blood-brain-barrier (BBB), while this project specifically aims to i) review the literature and select suitable methods and substrates, ii) develop models for determining in vitro kinetic properties of selected compounds, analyze the in vitro data using the developed models and to use Maximum Transport Activity (MTA) approach (Karlgren et al., 2012), iii) perform Physiology Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling and compare to in vivo literature data. 5. 5. Huntingtin gene profiling, towards allele-specific treatment

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Mimmi Håkansson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Huntington’s disease; huntingtin lowering; allele-selective; HD animal models; Huntingtons sjukdom; huntingtin sänkning; allel-specifik; Huntington djurmodeller;

    Sammanfattning : Huntington diseases(HD) is a fatal autosomal neurodegenerative genetic disorder, caused by a CAG trinucleotide repeat expansion in the huntingtin (HTT) gene, resulting in a toxic gain-of-function in the mutant huntingtin protein(mHTT). To date, there is no approved treatment to either cure or halt the course of HD. LÄS MER
