  1. 1. Bodies in Smartwatches : Embodied Data and Augmented Experiences in Self-Tracking Runners

    Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kulturvetenskaper (KV)

    Författare :Madelene Logren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :datafication; human-technology relations; postphenomenology; quantified self; self-tracking; smartwatches;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the relation between human and smartwatch by exploring the experiences of four Swedish long-distance runners who use digital technology to self-track their running activities. By examining the participating runners’ use of their smartwatches and smartwatch data as postphenomenological human-technology relations (Ihde, 1990), this thesis offers a perspective on the use of wearable self-tracking technology as augmenting human experience through digital data. 2. 2. Investigating the potential dependence of the apparent diffusivity of lateral self-exchange on mesoporous ZrO2 film

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för kemi - BMC

    Författare :Paul Wefer; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Lateral self-exchange; mesoporous film; D35; spectroelectrochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Lateral self-exchange of charge across dye-sensitized film is a phenomenon that may play animportant role in effectivizing H2 production from water via solar energy, and shows potential forother interesting applications. The rate of charge movement via lateral self-exchange across afilm is often quantified in terms of apparent diffusivity of charge, Dapp. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Speculations on the use of menstrual tracking technologies at the workplace : surveillance, privacy, and productivity

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Nike Backman; [2023]
    Nyckelord :menstrual surveillance; the neoliberal workplace; quantified self; critical design; mensövervakning; den nyliberala arbetsplatsen; kvantifiering av jaget; kritisk design;

    Sammanfattning : Biometric monitoring as part of workplace surveillance is an emerging phenomenon alongside the widespread use of self-tracking technologies. Among tools that are used for biometric monitoring of employees are technologies for menstrual tracking, and companies who have access to their employees menstrual data could use it against them to exert power, control, and discrimination. 4. 4. An analysis of the relationships between urban green space and public health : A combination of GIS-based analysis and regression models

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för tema

    Författare :Lingzi Liu; [2022]
    Nyckelord :GIS; Multiple linear regression; Public health; Urban green space; Urban planning;

    Sammanfattning : Public health is an essential urban issue attracting the increasing attention of scholars and decision-makers while urban planning is an important mechanism to promote health since mounting evidence has shown the planning elements, such as urban green spaces (UGS), could have a positive influence. In previous literature, the studies concerning the impacts of UGSs can be divided into two aspects: the first is to reveal the relationships between UGSs and health using statistical models based on self-reported data, while the second is to take their relationships as presumption and visualize the spatial distributions of UGSs in a geographical information system (GIS) to indicate the existence of health inequalities. 5. 5. Individen som renoveringsobjekt : Digital självmätning av kroppen och klimatet

    Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för kultur- och medievetenskaper

    Författare :Nordström Johanna; [2022]
    Nyckelord :the quantified self; apps; climate; body; metaphor; tracking; affordance; kropp; klimat; mätning; appar; gränssnitt; metafor; affordans;

    Sammanfattning : What does the climate and the body have to do with each other? In some ways, they are widely different. The body is local, individual, a lived experience; the climate is global, collectively felt, and hard to observe in everyday life. In other ways, the body and the climate are inextricably linked.
