  1. 16. THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE NORMALIZATION APPROACHES TO UNDERSTAND CHANGES IN SARS-CoV-2 CONCENTRATIONS IN WASTEWATER

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Författare :Frida Isaksson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :wastewater-based epidemiology; SARS-CoV-2; normalization; population estimates; pepper mild mottle virus; clinical cases; infiltration inflow;

    Sammanfattning : Following the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA fragments in wastewater in March 2020, the use of wastewater-based epidemiology is rapidly emerging as a non-invasive approach to assessing community wide COVID-19 prevalence. Wastewater-based epidemiology is promoted as a complement to clinical testing in terms of improving public health authorities’ preparedness and supporting them in taking required interventions to protect the public health. 2. 17. Har enterovirus-infektioner en roll för utvecklandet av typ 1 diabetes?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kemi och biomedicin (KOB)

    Författare :Ida Larsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :autoimmunitet; diabetes; T1D; infektion; virus;

    Sammanfattning : Typ 1 diabetes (T1D) är en kronisk autoimmun sjukdom där insulinproduktionen försämrats på grund av selektiv destruktion av de insulinproducerande β-cellerna i pankreas. Etiologin är komplicerad, incidensen är högre vintertid vilket tyder på inblandning av miljöfaktorer, men genetisk predisposition har en betydande roll. LÄS MER

  3. 18. The role of P25 interacting transcriptional regulator VIP1 in activation of transcription.

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Asma Kanon Hashi; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Rhizomania; BNYVV; expression clones; virulence factor P25; transcription; transient gene expression; VIP1 plant protein;

    Sammanfattning : Rhizomania, caused by beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV), has been considered as an economically important disease around the world because of the extreme reduction in sugar beet yield and sugar content in affected plants. The spread of rhizomania all over the world, including the emergence of resistance- breaking virus isolates, have been become a major concern for the plant pathologists and plant breeders aiming at improving sugar beet resistance to   BNYVV as well as better understanding sugar beet-virus interactions during disease development. 4. 19. Development of a novel quantitative PCR analysis method for HIV-1

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Tillämpad biokemi; Lunds universitet/Beräkningskemi

    Författare :Anna-Malin Hallberg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :HIV; PCR; primers; probes; virus; detection; blood plasma; pathogen; biological pharmaceutical; protein-based pharmaceutical; genotype; subtype; RT qPCR; extraction; TaqMa; RNA virus; cross-dimer; applied biochemistry; tillämpad biokemi; Biology and Life Sciences; Technology and Engineering; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Biological pharmaceuticals are the answer to many severe diseases of today’s society. Some of these are protein-based drugs and can be produced from human blood plasma. In order to guarantee the safety of patients, absence of any pathogens needs to be ensured. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Safety and Stability of Samples Stored on Filter Paper for Molecular Arbovirus Diagnosis

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Emelie Bringeland; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Arthropod-borne viruses arboviruses ; alphaviruses; flaviviruses; dengue virus DENV ; Japanese encephalitis virus JEV ; Tick-borne encephalitis virus TBEV ; Usutu virus USUV ; Zika virus ZIKV ; Flinders Technology Associates™ card FTA ; Biosafety; Vietnam;

    Sammanfattning : Expanding urbanization, climate change, and population growth contribute to increased transmission and spread of arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses), many of which cause severe disease in humans. Pathogenic arboviruses include dengue, Zika, tick-borne encephalitis, and sindbis viruses, which together threaten more than half the global population. LÄS MER
