1. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 2. Spatial downscaling of gridded soil moisture products using optical and thermal satellite data: the effects of using different vegetation indices
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Soil moisture (SM) plays an important role in the exchange of heat and water between the surface and atmosphere, impacting water and energy cycles and the climate. Satellite remote sensing offers a global-scale estimation of SM; however, the coarse resolutions of satellite SM products, typically ranging from 25-50 km, are unsuitable for regional analysis. 3. Impact of Sea Surface Temperature and Salinity on Phytoplankton blooms phenology in the North Sea
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Various environmental forcings can affect phytoplankton blooms, resulting in changes in bloom timing and abundance, which can have many far-reaching consequences. Understanding bloom phenology is crucial to predict and counter any potential harmful changes. LÄS MER
4. Evaluating a new hydraulic implementation in LPJ-GUESS for three sites in north Europe
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Drought is projected to increase in frequency and intensity and impacts trees with increased water stress and increased mortality rate. Water stresses can cause hydraulic failure-related mortality or carbon starvation due to tree species having different strategies to deal with water stresses. LÄS MER
5. Geografi med speleri : Medel och rön kring Kahoot-baserad pedagogik på mellanstadiet.
Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Edutainment by testing regional geography with Kahoot: Pros and Cons. In this study qualities and problems relating to edutainment are investigated. Specifications: content: regional geography; form: test/competition; tool: Kahoot. Scope of data: one lesson, two schools, five classes, 87 pupils (age. LÄS MER
