  1. 1. Cosmological Horizons and the Unruh Effect

    L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Författare :Niklas Engelhardt Önne; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Unruh effect; quantum scalar fields; Bogoliubov transformations; accelerated observers; Minkowski spacetime; cosmological horizons; Rindler observers; special relativity; QFT; Unruh-effekten; skalära kvantfält; Bogoliubov-transformationer; accelererande referenssystem; Minkowski rumtid; kosmologiska horisonter; Rindlerobservatörer; speciell relativitetsteori; QFT;

    Sammanfattning : The black hole information paradox, which states that the evaporation of black holes due to Hawking radiation results in a violation of the conservation of quantum information, is arguably one of the most fundamental problems in all of modern physics. Through the equivalence principle, the essence of the problem can be understood and studied in the context of much simpler flat spacetime (described by the theory of special relativity); in this context the Hawking radiation takes the form of the so-called Unruh effect, a thermal effect in the vacuum of a Minkowski quantum field theory that can be measured by accelerated observers. 2. 2. Introduktion till Cliffordalgebra som ett alternativt ramverk för matematisk fysik

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Jona Nordin Nobuoka; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Cliffordalgebra; matematisk fysik; multivektorer; geometrisk algebra; vektorderivata; rumtidsalgebran; rotorkinematik;

    Sammanfattning : Denna rapport introducerar Cliffordalgebra och visar hur det i flera fall kan ersätta tensoralgebran som grundläggande algebraisk struktur för matematisk fysik. Först konstrueras en allmän Cliffordalgebra utifrån ett vektorrum och en kvadratisk form. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Gravitational Decoherence in Macroscopic Quantum Systems

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Författare :Niklas Engelhardt Önne; [2023]
    Nyckelord :decoherence; gravitational decoherence; quantum mechanics; quantum physics; macroscopic quantum mechanics; macroscopic quantum physics; gravity; general relativity; gravitational time dilation; quantum-to-classical transition; nonrelativistic quantum mechanics; quantum gravity; dekoherens; gravitationell dekoherens; kvantmekanik; kvantfysik; makroskopisk kvantmekanik; makroskopisk kvantfysik; gravitation; allmän relativitetsteori; gravitationell tidsdilatation; övergången från kvantfysik till klassisk fysik; ickerelativistisk kvantmekanik; kvantgravitation;

    Sammanfattning : The problem of how quantum mechanics gives rise to classicality has been debated for more than a century. A commonly proposed solution is decoherence, i.e. the gradual decay of superpositions in open quantum systems due to their inevitable interaction with their environment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Speciell relativitetsteori i gymnasieskolan

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Fysikundervisningens didaktik

    Författare :Vendla Niklasson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :speciell relativitetsteori; fysikdidaktik; einsteins tåg; gymnasieskolan; tvillingparadoxen;

    Sammanfattning : Special relativity is a subject that attracts interest among students, but there are many things that make students experience it as difficult. As a physics teacher, it is important to both have a solid base of knowledge in physics as well as educational knowledge within the subject. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Black Holes and Scalar Fields : A study of a massive scalar field around a black hole

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Författare :Abdulmasih Ghazal; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Black holes; scalar field; General relativity; special relativity; spacetime; cosmology; Schwarzschild; Schrödinger equation; Svart hål; relativitetsteori; skalär fält; rumtid; Shrödinger; Schwarzschild.;

    Sammanfattning : Black holes are one of the most interesting objects in the universe, and studying these objects should give exciting results. This research will investigate the General Theory of Relativity, explaining the essence of the theory needed for deriving solutions for a Schwarzschild black hole. LÄS MER
