    Sammanfattning : We hypothesize that informational advantages, network advantages and reputational incentives allow local private equity investors to outperform non-local private equity investors in improving the operating performance of their holdings. To test the validity of this hypothesis, we apply both an event study and a difference-in-differences method to analyze data from the annual accounts of 91 Scandinavian target companies acquired by private equity investors between 1998 and 2009.
