    Sammanfattning : When we first encounter past traumatic experiences in ourselves, we are left with a conundrum; how are we to move forward in our everyday lives and thrive, rather than just cope and survive? By participating in the Belly2Belly ritual, providing analytical reflections and a detailed account from an auto-reflexive perspective, I attempt in this thesis to show, through the Belly2Belly ritual, how participants progress from a state of ill-being into a state of well-being, a form of evolution of well-being. This, it can be argued, takes form when the ritual participants are provided with the opportunity to engage with their unconscious habitus and autonomous physiological reactions through embodiment of intimacy. 4. 4. Increased carbon sequestration of actively restored tropical forests in Sabah, Malaysia : a comparison of natural regeneration and active restoration

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Johan Engström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Degraded tropical forest; Active restoration; Carbon sequestration; Natural regeneration; Enrichment planting; Biomass accumulation;

    Sammanfattning : As restoration with assisted natural regeneration and enrichment planting becomes a more important and popular method to restore ecosystem services and mitigate negative climate effects, these treatments and their effectiveness is heavily debated. There are three main groups of opinions regarding restoration, one is that humans actively need to help nature recover and the second is that nature itself does a better job without our help and the third is somewhere in between. Sammanfattning : Degradation of tropical forests have had a major negative impact on biodiversity in these speciesrich systems, as well as lowering carbon sequestration. This results in these systems losing their potential to bind parts of the carbon dioxide that is causing the ongoing climate change. LÄS MER
