    Sammanfattning : Schmallenberg virus was discovered in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany in 2011. The virus spread over most of Europe during the following years, including United Kingdom and the Nordic countries. Its origins are yet to be discovered. Schmallenberg virus belongs to the Simbu serogroup of the Bunyaviridae family, genus Orthobunyavirus. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Arthrogryposis is a common congenital malformation in cattle and it affects the limbs through fibrosis of the joints leading to fixation. This is due to paralysis of the fetus because of alkaloid toxicosis in the pregnant dam during gestation day 40-70. When the fetus cannot move, the fibrosis develops in the joints and the extremities are fixated. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Schmallenberg virus (SBV) is a novel arthropod-borne orthobunyavirus emerging in Europe in 2011 to 2012. Acute SBV infection causes diarrhoea, fever and reduced milk production in dairy cattle, but it is mainly the reproductive disorders (abortions, malformed foetuses and stillborn animals) in ruminants that have caused substantial economical losses.
