11. Efficient Input Solutions for User Interfaces Primarily Intendedfor Information Presentations
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologiSammanfattning : The user interfaces of administrative information systems are typically based on screens serving both input and output functions. However, in numerous usage situations, such as healthcare, the primary purpose of these screens involves providing information to professionals. LÄS MER
12. Designing a user friendly search interface for analog workers : A pilot study inside a costume and prop warehouse
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, KTH/Medieteknik och interaktionsdesign, MIDSammanfattning : The Swedish Television ́s department for costumes and props is digitizing the work processes concerning the documentation, rental and storage of over two million objects. This thesis is a pilot study with the objective of investigating which design elements are crucial to ensure a smooth transition from the analog domain to the digital, in a specialized field. LÄS MER
13. Conversational agent as kitchen assistant
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : Chatbots, also called conversational agents, with speech interfaces are being used to a greater and greater extent, but there are still many areas that are not completely explored. The idea of this project was born out of the belief that there is a need for an assistant in the kitchen that is able to search for recipes, answer questions regarding them and guide and assist the user throughout the cooking process, all through conversation since the hands are busy. 14. Reformation of a user-interface from a cognitive science perspective
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för psykologiSammanfattning : Current computer-based medical systems used in health care, such as analysis programs, has evolved which has redirected the focus to creating user-interfaces based on cognitive theories, to enhance the usability for the end-user. Which cognitive science theories can be applied to interfaces of analysis programs, focusing on a search function of data, the settings of initial parameters and visual representation of data (in this study, programs specifically for motion detection) to optimize the usability for the end-user? This study has a total of 8 participants, who underwent 2 evaluations of MoLabTM, an analysis program. LÄS MER
15. Effect of depth cues on visual search in a web-based environment
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)Sammanfattning : In recent years, 3D graphics has become more available for web development with low-level access to graphics hardware and increased power of web browsers. With core browsing tasks for users being to quickly scan a website and find what they are looking for, can 3D graphics – or depth cues – be used to facilitate these tasks? Therefore, the main focus of this work was to examine user performance on websites in terms of visual attention. LÄS MER
