    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to study what kind of power the EU seeks to project in its foreign policy relationship with the state of Israel and adds to the research field by testing the foreign policy diplomacy through speeches and official documents against the normative power theory as well as the market power theory. Previous research speak of the asymmetrical political relationship between the two actors because of the Israeli governments’ belief that the Union is “pro-Arab”, the financial and trade relationship since the EU is Israel’s number one trading partner and finally the theories within the research field of what kind of global power Union is. This thesis aims to explore how the theory of strategic culture, regarded here as an inherent, domestic context in which strategy is formulated, can add nuance to such realist analyses of how small states build and adjust their defence capabilities.     Sammanfattning : This thesis critically interrogates the underlying assumptions which legitimise the hard regulation of online platforms regarding terrorist content, by turning to the case of the EU Regulation 2021/784. Utilising qualitative critical discourse analysis, the study analyses how the EU's strategy against terrorist content online is discursively legitimised through the lens of Theo van Leeuwen's framework for discursive legitimisation strategies, focusing on moral and rational justifications.
