1. Preprocessing of earthquake tremor data for tremor location
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : When analysing volcanic seismicity and volcanic events, it is often interesting to focus on tremor, which is a signal of long duration. This is because not much is known about tremor. Unlike earthquakes, sources of tremor are difficult to locate due to them not having any clear onsets in the seismic signal. LÄS MER
2. Identifying subarctic river thermal and mechanical ice break-up using seismic sensing
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : River-ice break-up in high-latitude regions, despite its brevity, is a fundamental process, representing the most dynamic and complex period of fluvial processes. Moreover, ice break-up has significant cascading ecological effects, with a different severity for mechanical vs. LÄS MER
3. Cross-comparison of Non-Linear Seismic Assessment Methods for Unreinforced Masonry Structures in Groningen
Master-uppsats, KTH/BetongbyggnadSammanfattning : A large amount of low-rise unreinforced masonry structures (URM) can be found in Groningen, the Netherlands. More and more induced earthquakes with short duration have been detected in this region due to gas exploitation. LÄS MER
4. Investigation Of Source Parameters Of Earthquakes In Northern Sweden
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/GeofysikSammanfattning : By studying the frequency domain of seismic signals generated by earthquakes, the source parameters can be recovered, i.e., the seismic moment (M0) and the stress drop (Δσ). LÄS MER
5. High-resolution offshore reflection seismic investigation of the Stockholm Bypass tunnel
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Boat-towed high-frequency, short source and receiver spacing, reflection seismic data, 16 profiles and in total 3884 m long, were acquired in 2008 for the planning of the Stockholm Bypass multilane (3 lanes in each direction in two different tubes) underground motorway tunnel designed to ease the ever increasing car traffic on the city and neighbouring regions. The planned bypass will be about 21 km long of which 18 km will be in the form of bedrock tunnel. LÄS MER
