  1. 1. Magic Tree - Development of a technology mediating multi-sensory musical instrument

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Innovation

    Författare :Herta Storlind; [2024]
    Nyckelord :multi-sensory; musical instrument; capacitive sensing; Arduino; multifunctional disabilities; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is part of the MISK-project, Musik, Interaktiv design, Sinnesstimulering och Kvalitet (Music, Interactive design, Sensory stimulation and Quality). The MISK-project is a collaborative project between Certec at LTH, Furuboda Folkhögskola and Eldorado Resurscenter, developing musical instruments for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. 2. 2. Losing the sensation of touch Mathematical modeling of diabetic neuropathy using spatial point processes

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för matematiska vetenskaper

    Författare :Sirada Kaewchino; Maximilian Nylander; Jadd Ujam; [2022-07-05]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes has led to an epidemic of complications associated with this disease. Diabetic neuropathy, which causes pain and loss of sensation due to degeneration of nerve fibers, is one of the most common complications of diabetes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Somatosensory attenuation : Differences in the attenuation of self-generated touch in terms of intensity, pleasantness and ticklishness

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Erik Stenegren; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Somatosensory attenuation; efference copy; intensity; pleasantness; ticklishness; schizotypy; SPQ;

    Sammanfattning : The phenomenon of somatosensory attenuation describes the perception that self-generated touch feels weaker than externally generated touch of identical intensity. Previous studies have shown that besides intensity, self-generated touches feel less pleasant and less ticklish than identical externally generated touches. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The whole is “other” than the sum of its parts : An investigation of synesthesia and perception through a patchwork

    Master-uppsats, Konstfack/Textil

    Författare :Åsa Sjödin; [2020]
    Nyckelord :craft; patchwork; textile dyeing; perception; synesthesia; Gestalt theory;

    Sammanfattning : Some people experience music as colourful patterns or feel it as a physical touch, they have synesthesia. A neurological condition in which a stimulus of one sense automatically and involuntarily triggers a sensation in another sense. This shows that perception is not normative. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Can electrical pulses be adapted to create life-like perceptions?

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Författare :Carolina Rudervall; [2020]
    Nyckelord :nerve stimulation; electrical stimulation; sensations; TENS; perceptions; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The next big step to improve prosthetics and make the lives of people living with certain physical disabilities less restricted is to provide them with sensory feedback. Today most feedback systems used in prosthetics are mechanical but with the recent developments in sensors and the processing of their input electrical stimulation is becoming an increasingly promising way to convey touch, pressure and movement.
