  1. 1. Effect of temperature on early stage adhesion during TiAlN sliding against Inconel 718 and Stainless steel 316L : High temperature tribology

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Ahsan Ali; [2023]
    Nyckelord :High temperature tribology; Early-stage adhesion; Adhesive wear; Friction; Wear resistant coatings; Physical vapour deposition PVD coatings; TiAlN; Tungsten carbide WC Co ; Difficult to machine super alloys; Inconel 718; Stainless steel 316L; High-performance materials; Abrasion; Oxidation; Chipping; Ploughing; Characterization;

    Sammanfattning : High-performance materials such as stainless steels and nickel based super alloys are widely used in demanding applications where high mechanical and thermal properties are required. The applications of super alloys are mainly found in jet engines, power plants and gas turbines demanding high fatigue strength, corrosion and oxidation resistance as well as wear resistant properties. 2. 2. Additives in a steam engine to decrease friction : Friction testing of solid lubricants in powder form

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Författare :Viktor Lange; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Tribology; friction; wear; steam; steam engine; ranotor; invencon; invencon AB; steel; contact mechanics; hexagonal boron nitride; molybdenum disulfide; tungsten disulfide; lubricants; solid lubricants; Tribologi; friktion; nötning; ånga; ångmotor; stål; kontaktmekanik; smörjning; smörjmedel; fasta smörjmedel;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to investigate the coefficient of friction between steel on steel contacts with the addition of solid lubricants such as h-BN, WS2, MoS2 in powder form, in dry conditions and wet conditions. More specifically, the purpose is to enhance the sliding between the piston rings and cylinder block in a modern high temperature steam engine developed by RANOTOR. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Impact of Frame Stiffness on Tribological Behaviour of Sliding Interfaces

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Nisha Singh; [2023]
    Nyckelord :coefficient of friction; friction-vibration interaction; stiffness; tribometer; vibrations; friktionskoefficient; friktion-vibrationsinteraktion; styvhet; tribometer; vibrationer;

    Sammanfattning : Friction and wear have been concerns to industrialists, scientists and environmentalist for several decades. Many robust models have been developed to address friction and wear and their dependency on various parameters. Numerous experiments have been conducted in the past to model friction and wear. Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Rabia Arshad; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Hot forming of aluminium; friction; high temperature lubrication; strip draw; wear.;

    Sammanfattning : The development of lightweight design for automotive applications has lasted for many years and is still increasing. Vehicles with light structures use less fuel, emit less CO2, and are better for the environment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Time Dependencies Between Equity Options Implied Volatility Surfaces and Stock Loans, A Forecast Analysis with Recurrent Neural Networks and Multivariate Time Series

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Författare :Simon Wahlberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :RNN; LSTM; GRU; vector autoregression; implied volatility surface; stock loan; equity options; multivariate time-series analysis; financial mathematics.; Rekursiva neurala nätverk; LSTM; GRU; VAR; implicerade volatilitetsytor; aktielån; aktieoptioner; multidimensionell tidsserieanalys; finansiell matematik.;

    Sammanfattning : Synthetic short positions constructed by equity options and stock loan short sells are linked by arbitrage. This thesis analyses the link by considering the implied volatility surface (IVS) at 80%, 100%, and 120% moneyness, and stock loan variables such as benchmark rate (rt), utilization, short interest, and transaction trends to inspect time-dependent structures between the two assets.
