  1. 1. Non-proliferation and safeguards aspects of SMR’s in Sweden : A study on the future electricity demand in Sweden and the implications on nuclear safeguards from the deployment of SMRs in Sweden

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysik

    Författare :Waldemar Andersson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :SMR; Small modular reactor; Safeguards; Non-proliferation;

    Sammanfattning : This project aims to investigate and analyze crucial aspects related to the deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in Sweden. SMRs have risen as a competitor to large-scale nuclear power plants with cost-competitiveness and cogeneration purposes in focus. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Small-scale wave energy converter for wave tank facility

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Författare :Samir Asseh; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wave power; small-scale; Wave tank; facility; Renewable resources; damping; froude scaling; magnets; copper coil; Uppsala University; buoy; MATLAB; COMSOL; PTO; WEC; Electricicity generation.; Förnybar energi; Vågtank; Vågkraft;

    Sammanfattning : A small-scale wave energy converter was designed and built for teaching and academic purposes to be used at The Division for Electricity, in the Ångström Laboratory at Uppsala University. The design of the power take-off (PTO) makes use of magnets passing through a copper coil for electricity generation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 5. 5. Assessment of the integration of solar heat power into food drying processes

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Författare :Charalampos Psilopoulos; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable; sustainability; co2 reduction; feasibility; solar thermal; direct steam generation; drying; food industry; scope 1 emissions; sdg; sustainable development goals; spray drying; drum drying; powder; food; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The long-lasting usage of fossil fuels has brought its negative impact on the planet and thus the society is turning towards more environmentally sustainable solutions in every aspect of life. This master’s thesis discusses the novel topic of integrating concentrated solar thermal collectors, which directly produce steam, to drying processes in the food industry, which is proven to currently emit significant amounts of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs).
