2. A unified view of a family of soliton equations related to spin Calogero-Moser systems
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : We study the interconnections between the spin Benjamin-Ono (sBO) and half-wave maps (HWM) equations, a pair of nonlinear partial integro-differential equations that have recently been found to permit multi-soliton solutions, where the time evolution of the constituent solitons can be described in terms of the well-known, completely integrable, spin Calogero-Moser (sCM) system. By considering a symmetry transformation of the sCM dynamics we are led to introduce a scale parameter into the sBO equation, yielding what we call the rescaled sBO (rsBO) equation, which has both the sBO and HWM equations as special cases. 3. Modeling of optical microresonator frequency combs
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologiSammanfattning : An optical frequency comb is a structure of equidistant, coherent spectral components which can be thought of as a large array of individual phase-locked laser sources. Their utilization in precision spectroscopy garnering part of the 2005 Nobel prize, optical frequency combs constitute a relatively novel technology with a large number of potential and actual applications. 4. On a novel soliton equation, its integrability properties, and its physical interpretation
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : In the present work, we introduce a never before studied soliton equation called the intermediate mixed Manakov (IMM) equation. Through a pole ansatz, we prove that the equation has N-soliton solutions with pole parameters governed by the hyperbolic Calogero-Moser system. LÄS MER
5. Numerical solutions to the Boussinesq equation and the Korteweg-de Vries equation
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : The aim of the report is to numerically construct solutions to two analytically solvable non-linear differential equations: the Korteweg–De Vries equation and the Boussinesq equation. To accomplish this, a range of numerical methods where implemented, including Galerkin methods. LÄS MER
