  1. 1. A cross-correlation analysis of a warm super-Neptune using transit spectroscopy

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Författare :Elias Önerud; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Cross-correlation; cross-correlation spectroscopy; cross-correlation analysis; super-Neptune; astronomy; astrophysics; WASP-107; WASP-107 b; CRIRES ; SysRem; exoplanet; transmission spectrum; transit;

    Sammanfattning : A study was made in order to deduce whether certain chemical species, namely water (H2O) and carbon monoxide (CO), are present in the atmosphere of the exoplanet WASP-107 b, which lies about 200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Virgo. The project was carried out at Uppsala University at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The chemical evolution of the Milky Way: pushing APOGEE to higher precision and accuracy

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astrofysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Erik Fridén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent decade, a rapid increase in all-sky spectroscopic surveys has occurred, and with it, the wealth of observational data and information on our Galaxy. Consequently, numerous detections of new structures, such as new open clusters, accreted and in-situ components, are discovered. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Deriving Spectral Maps from JWST Data : A Study of Enceladus’ Plumes

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Stephan Weissenböck; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Data Analysis; Enceladus; Plumes; Atmosphere; JWST; NIRSpec; IFU; Infrared spectroscopy; Dataanalys; Enceladus; plym; atmosfär; JWST; NIRSpec; IFU; infraröd spektroskopi;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigates the presence of water vapor plumes in the region south of Enceladus, a moon in the Saturnian system, through observations conducted by the James Webb Space Telescope. Enceladus is believed to harbor a subsurface ocean or localized water reservoir that gives rise to water geysers, expelling vapor into its tenuous atmosphere and outer space. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Testing the detectability of supernova ejecta from Population III stars with future ELT/ANDES

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Författare :Aron Kordt; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The first stars, known as Population III (Pop III) stars, formed when the Universe was about 100 Myr to 200 Myr old. In contrast to the present-day Universe, star formation took place in a basically metal-free environment. Despite several decades of research, Pop III stars have not yet been directly observed. 5. 5. Modelling Ganymede’s Aurora

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :James Tammila; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A 3D model of Ganymede’s aurora is created using captured data from the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS), on board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The data is processed into 24 images and analyzed. A 3D grid is generated around the moon to implement a functional model to describe the aurora. LÄS MER
