  1. 1. High-Temperature Thermal Energy Storage for Innovative Hybrid CSP/PV Plants : A Comprehensive Design Optimization

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Energiteknik

    Författare :Lorenzo Centonze; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : By means of a literature review, critical parameters in the context of thermal energy storage systems, particularly packed bed thermal energy storage systems are identified. The goals of this thesis project are to come up with an optimized design for a PBSTES and to evaluate the thermal performance of alternative storage materials derived from byproducts of industrial processes and natural rocks in order to reduce the environmental impact of the designed system. 2. 2. Restprodukter inom skrotbaserad stålindustri – en fallstudie av Uddeholms AB. Värdeskapande materialströmmar och industriell symbios för ökad samhällsnytta

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Ola Ohlsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :steel industry; steel slag; by-products; scrap-metal; drivers; barriers; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : A variety of excess material is produced in the processes used in the scrap-metal based steel industry. The largest stream of material, by volume, is steel slag. Since slag material has very different properties and wide differences in its chemical composition its usage can be found in different sectors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sequestration of carbon dioxide in steel slag

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Sushanth Kombathula; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Carbon dioxide; Steel slag; Carbonation; Koldioxid; Stålslagg; Karbonering;

    Sammanfattning : Although Iron and steel industry is essential for the development of society, the industry is responsible for a large portion of CO2 emissions. The industry also produces by-products like metallurgical slag in orders of million tons. The slag is alkaline in nature and rich in Ca and Mg oxides. LÄS MER
