11. Numerical solutions to the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations : Finite difference solutions in curvilinear coordinates
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskapSammanfattning : A finite difference scheme for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in 2-dimensionalcurvilinear coordinates is derived. The scheme uses high-order Summation-By-Parts operatorsand boundaries are handled by the Projection method. LÄS MER
12. Hydroacoustic Modelling of Podded Propulsion System : Underwater Radiated Noise Prediction Using ANSYS
Master-uppsats, KTH/Teknisk mekanikSammanfattning : Ocean noise pollution is an invisible but growing threat. There are many sources of sound in the ocean but human underwater radiated noise, in particular from shipping is one of the most prominent one. Ocean noise pollution can interfere or sometimes even directly harm marine life. LÄS MER
13. High-performance implementation of H(div)-conforming elements for incompressible flows
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskapSammanfattning : In this thesis, evaluation of H(div)-conforming finite elements is implemented in a high-performance setting and used to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation, obtaining an exactly point-wise divergence-free velocity field. In particular, the anisotropic Raviart-Thomas tensor-product polynomial space is considered, where the finite element operators are evaluated with quadrature in a matrix-free fashion using sum-factorization on tensor-product meshes. 14. Numerical simulations using Lattice Boltzmann Method
Master-uppsats, KTH/Strömningsmekanik och Teknisk AkustikSammanfattning : The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is widely studied andused in the last years to replace the conventional numerical solvers forthe Navier-Stokes equations. In this work, a general introduction tofluid dynamics equations and the changes when the flow is a reactivemulti-species one will be given first. LÄS MER
15. Surf Simulation with the Shallow Water Equations : Coupling of a surfer model to a shallow water wave
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the subject of deriving and solving the system of partial differential equations known as the Shallow Water Equations (SWE), and coupling the solutions of this equation system to a simplified model of a surfer - or any floating object, with the right choice of parameters. The SWE are generally used to analyze fluid movement on shallow areas, such as ocean waves nearing the shore, and are derived from the Navier-Stokes equations and restricted to conservation of mass and momentum in a fluid.
