    Sammanfattning : This study aimed at examining if a strengths-based intervention implemented by two coordination teams in Surahammar and Hallstahammar has a positive effect on the wellbeing and work capacity of participants with complex needs such as mental and physical disabilities. As a direct result of citizens with complex needs having problems getting gainful employment the two teams were formed to help people who has not yet been helped by other previous interventions. These impacts risk running into the long term, and in order to mitigate this, a better understanding of how children and young people’s lives have changed and the role they can play in driving solutions is needed.     Sammanfattning : This thesis explores strengths-based social work with unaccompanied minors and newly-arrived families in Lund, Sweden, through a qualitative study based on par-ticipant observation and interviews at Barn i Start (BiS), a program for refugees. Previous research claims that welfare provision in Sweden has changed from a purely state-run service provider toward a heterogenic landscape of various public, private and non-governmental actors, and that different normative discourses in-form social work with migrants.
