1. Surface and Subsurface Flow Connection and Dominating Runoff Mechanism in Hillslope of Tarfala, Northern Sweden.
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : The Sub artic regions are becoming increasingly important due to the effects of climate change. In northern Sweden, thawing of permafrost has led to significant increases in annual minimum flows in several catchments. LÄS MER
2. Groundwater modeling of Krycklan catchment and evaluation of the groundwater discharge distribution
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : This thesis aimed to evaluate the groundwater discharge distribution in the Krycklan catchment by developing a groundwater flow model using COMSOL Multiphysics and assuming a topography- controlled groundwater surface. Previous research has shown that the groundwater surface can be modeled as a subdued replica of the topography in humid climate regions where the permeability of the subsurface is low and where the groundwater surface is shallow. 3. Long-term Effect of Metallic Iron Sorbents on Arsenic Mobility in an Anoxic Aquifer : An assessment based on long-term column experiments
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentSammanfattning : Zero valent iron (ZVI) sorbents have successfully remediated soils burdened with different groups of contaminants. When working to alleviate arsenic (As) contamination, the location-specific subsurface chemistry greatly affects the efficiency of the sorbents as it controls the speciation of As and the transformation of the ZVI, as well as the interaction between these (remediating mechanisms). 4. Performance Evaluation of a High Temperature Borehole Thermal Energy Storage Under Influence of Groundwater Flow
Master-uppsats, KTH/EnergiteknikSammanfattning : Recent years have seen a growing interest in large-scale high-temperature borehole thermal energy storage (HT-BTES) as a means to store industrial waste heat and solar energy between the seasons. A profound understanding and characterization of the thermal and hydraulic processes involved in such systems is required for the optimal design as well as for environmental assessments of the storage. 5. Design and Optimisation of an Aquifer Storage and Recovery System - Options for long term storage under natural hydraulic gradients
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologiSammanfattning : Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) is a concept where water is stored in an aquifer during times when it is available, thus creating artificial groundwater, which can later be recovered by pumping when it is needed (Pyne, 1995). One ASR cycle consists of a injection, a standby and a recovery phase. LÄS MER
