  1. 11. Climate Change and Precipitation Variability Influence on the Greenland Ice Sheet

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Författare :Jennie Olsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Physics; Ice Sheet; Surface Mass Balance; SMB; Representative Concentration Pathways; RCP; Climate Change; Greenland; Precipitation; Precipitation Variability; Glaciers; Glacier; Meteorology; Greenhouse Effect; Greenhouse Gas; Future Climate; Climate; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Climate changes have a large impact on precipitation patterns and precipitation variability change. With this in mind, precipitation over Greenland is studied. This is done for present day precipitation model data from 1991-2010 compared to future model simulations of precipitation for 2081-2100. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Increased leaching of metals as a result of foundation work

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Emmy Mattisson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Principal components analysis; Modified double mass analysis; Geochemistry; Sulphide bedrock; Remediation methods; Surface water pollution;

    Sammanfattning : Heavy metal contamination in the environment is a global issue that is likely to increase in the future. This report investigates a construction area in which increased concentrations of the heavy metals cadmium, cobalt, copper, nickel and zinc and a decreased pH-value has been observed in the surface water recipient. 3. 13. Aerosol Input and Snow Accumulation Rates on the Northern Greenland Ice Sheet : Reconstructed by means of Continuous Flow Analysis (CFA) of 6 shallow firn cores

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Patrick Stephan Zens; [2018]
    Nyckelord :continuous flow analysis; Greenland; shallow firn core; aerosol; snow accumulation; glaciochemistry; kontinuerlig flödesanalys; Grönland; grunda firnkärnor; aerosol; snöackumulering; glaciokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Ice, firn and snow cores from the Greenland ice sheet offer a unique opportunity to reconstruct past climate conditions. These can be analyzed with continuous flow analysis (CFA) in order to acquire proxy information about ancient atmospheric aerosol concentrations, snow accumulation rates or temperature variations, atmospheric composition, solar activity as well as volcanism and biological activity. 4. 14. The spatial variability of salinity and water flux estimates in Gialova Lagoon, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Kim Lundmark; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Coastal Lagoon; Gialova Lagoon; Water quality; Hydrological Modelling; Salinity; Water flux; Mass balance;

    Sammanfattning : Lagoons are coastal waterbodies which are sensitive to meteorological and hydrological changes. This study focused on the spatial distribution of salinity in Gialova lagoon, Greece. The area in which the lagoon is located is under pressure from agriculture and truism in the area. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Drones in Arctic Environments: Snow Change Tracking Aid using Sensor Fusion

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Mekatronik

    Författare :Daniela Attalla; Alexandra Tang; [2018]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The Arctic is subject to rapid climate changes that canbe difficult to track. This thesis aims to provide a user case in which researchers in the Arctic benefit from the incorporation of drones in their snow ablation research. This thesis presents a way to measure ablation stakes with the help of a sensor fusion system mounted on a drone. LÄS MER
