  1. 1. Attitudes to developing sustainable digital products : A human-centered design study on how to support the climate work of digital media service providers

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Maria Jacobson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :S-HCI; sustainability; environmental decision support systems; human-centered design; S-HCI; hållbarhet; beslutsfattande inom hållbarhet; människocentrerad design;

    Sammanfattning : As climate change is becoming an increasingly more alarming threat in society, sustainability as a topic becomes more and more important in relation to a range of business activities, software development being one. Several frameworks for how software development and computing products should be developed and evaluated on the basis of sustainability and climate impact are being developed, but there are no standardized ways to go about this type of work and the topic is still under prioritized in favor of other non functional requirements, like financial aspects. 2. 2. Unleashing the Awareness of Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Among Youth: : Bridging the Knowledge Gap and EmpoweringFuture Sustainable Designers

    Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/JTH, Avdelningen för datateknik och informatik

    Författare :Mariam Basyouny; Aleksandra Männik; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable HCI; Sustainable Interaction Design; Digital Technology; Digital Carbon Footprint; Digital Sustainability; Eco-feedback Technology; Young Designers; Digital Design.;

    Sammanfattning : This research paper aims to explore the knowledge gap among young designers in relation to sustainable human-computer interaction (HCI), focusing on Interaction Design, and investigating the necessary resources for designing sustainable HCI. Lack of knowledge among young designers regarding sustainable practices in digital design contributes to the overconsumption of energy, and increased carbon emissions, highlighting the need to raise awareness and bridge the knowledge gap in Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design among youth. 5. 5. Redesign and Improve an Energy Monitoring System with the Open Sandbox Experience through Simplification and Limitation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Hsuan-Li Huang; [2022]
    Nyckelord :user experience; user interface; design; evaluation; energy monitoring system; energy dashboard; användarupplevelse; användargränssnitt; design; utvärdering; energiuppföljningssystem; energi-dashboard;

    Sammanfattning : Energy monitoring systems (EMS) are crucial in improving energy eciency to encourage sustainable development. Such systems usually come with an open sandbox experience to provide multiple tools for monitoring, analytic, and reporting purposes, but this also creates user experience (UX) issues. LÄS MER
