  1. 1. The impact of prebiotic supplementation in piglets and its effect on learning and memory

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Environment and Health

    Författare :Kirste Mccrea; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Pigs; ; T-maze; ; Microbiota-gut-brain-axis; ; Beta-glucan; ; Cognition;

    Sammanfattning : The microbiota-gut-brain axis is known to have the ability to influence host physiology and behaviour. Studies have demonstrated an impact from gut microbiota on a variety of behaviours, such as learning and memory, largely through the use of rodent models. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Developing a spiking neural model of Long Short-Term Memory architectures

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Författare :Isabella Pozzi; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Current advances in Deep Learning have shown significant improvements in common Machine Learning applications such as image, speech and text recognition. Specifically, in order to process time series, deep Neural Networks (NNs) with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) units are widely used in sequence recognition problems to store recent information and to use it for future predictions. 3. 3. Effects of Stress and Balance of Options on Decision-Making and Associated Physiological Responses in Laying Hens

    Master-uppsats, Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi; Tekniska högskolan

    Författare :Mia Persson; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Choice test; decision making; heart rate; laying hen; push-door; stress; t-maze;

    Sammanfattning : Animal preferences in choice tests have frequently been used within animal welfare research to make recommendations about animal handling and husbandry. It is therefore important that these results are obtained in a way that, as far as possible, respects the behavioural capabilities of the animal. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Intelligence without hesitation

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Mikael Thieme; [2002]
    Nyckelord :Adaptive behavior; Scaffolding; Interactivist representations; Self-organization; Virtual modularity;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to evaluate four artificial neural network architectures, each of which implements the sensory-motor mapping in an embodied, situated, and autonomous agent set up to reach a goal area in one out of six systematically varied T-maze environments. In order to reach the goal the agent has to turn either to the left or to the right in each junction in the environment, depending on the placement of previously encountered light sources. LÄS MER
