    Sammanfattning : This study explores the elements that can or must be changed in a film or television series for it to be successfully adapted and translated into other languages, in order to be accepted and understood by other cultures. By conducting two focus groups and individual interviews with experts in the matter, this study demonstrates that film and television can be an intercultural communication tool that serves as a bridge between different cultures, breaking the barriers and providing an understanding of one another’s norms.     Sammanfattning : This study examines how Swedish and English adjectives relating to the semantic domain of SADNESS are used and what some of their semantic and syntactic characteristics are. The primary objectives of this study are to determine whether the adjectives in question are used more often attributively or predicatively, whether they are used more frequently along with the semantic role of stimulus or experiencer and whether there are any syntactic, semantic or lexical disparities in how Swedish and English encode the domain of SADNESS.     Sammanfattning : Film och tv-serier är medier som kan bidra till att upprätthålla stereotyper, som i sin tur konstruerar myter om kvinnor och män. Tidigare serier om superhjältar har fått kritik för att ha bidragit med att framställa misogyna ideologier om kvinnor, men på senare år har den stora filmoch serieproducenten Marvel, som skapar superhjälteserier, arbetat aktivt för att skapa ett mer inkluderat superhjälte-universum som innefattar en mer utvecklad syn på kvinnor.
