    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the discursive constructions of women refugees from Syria and Ukraine in journalistic photographs published in three Swedish newspapers with a theoretical framework of representational practice theory, othering, gender and ethnicity.     Sammanfattning : The inclusion of women in security at the highest institutional level the United Nations Security Council through its Resolution 1325, which passed unanimously in 2000, has been hailed as a monumental achievement for feminists. However, scholars have argued that the feminist agenda got lost in the (masculine) Security Council, as gendered stereotypes are reinforced through the Council’s resolutions, with the potential utilization of those stereotypes to justify continued militarism.     Sammanfattning : År 2006 började den fredsbevarande FN-instansen UNMIS verka i det område som idag är Sydsudan, och under denna tidsperiod har prostitutionen i landet ökat med nästan 100 %. De fredsbevarande FN-soldaterna drar nytta av sin maktposition som beskyddare genom att utnyttja de sydsudanesiska kvinnorna sexuellt, kvinnorna de ursprungligen är utsända för att beskydda från paramilitära grupper.
