  1. 1. TMS stimulus-response asymmetry in lower limbs : Difference in stimulated muscles between dominant and non-dominant leg

    Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa och samhälle (HS)

    Författare :Adna Pivac; [2022]
    Nyckelord :lower limbs; motor evoked potential; motor cortex; stimulus-response asymmetry; transcranial magnetic stimulation;

    Sammanfattning : Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a 37-year-old non-invasive tool and can be used for diagnostic, therapeutics, and research purposes. In research, TMS is mostly used to stimulate the motor cortex, resulting in a neuroelectric excitatory response called a motor evoked potential (MEP). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Magnetic Resonance Elastography in Muscle Tissue based on Anisotropic Assumption

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Frederick Holmer Fann; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Magnetic Resonance Elastography MRE ; Muscle Tissue; Anisotropic MRE reconstruction;

    Sammanfattning : Mechanical properties of muscle tissue are linked to its function. Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) has the capability toquantitively measure these mechanical properties of soft tissue in-vivo. However, most MRE methods assume tissue isotropy during MRE reconstruction which is not an appropriate assumption for muscle tissue. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High density EMG based estimation of lower limb muscle characteristics using feature extraction

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Balázs Szabó; [2021]
    Nyckelord :HD-EMG; feature extraction; lower limb; muscle characteristics;

    Sammanfattning : Electromyography (EMG) is a common tool in electrical muscle activity measurement and can be used in multiple areas of clinical and biomedical applications, mainly in identifying neuromuscular diseases, analyzing movement or in human machine interfaces. Traditionally a pair of electrodes were used to measure the signals, but in recent years the use of high density surface EMG (HD-sEMG) gained more popularity as it can sample myoelectric activities from multiple electrodes in an array on a single muscle and provide more information. 4. 4. 3D Freehand Ultrasonography in Quantifying Muscle Morphological Parameters in Lower Extremity

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Ruoyu Huang; [2021]
    Nyckelord :3D freehand ultrasonography; muscle structure; fascicle length; pennation angle;

    Sammanfattning : Muscle morphological parameters such as fascicle length (FL), pennationangle (PA) and physiologic cross-sectional area (PCSA) can provide an insightinto the reasons of the deteriorated muscle functions caused by pathologies.This study investigates the 3D structure of the lower leg muscles using 3Dfreehand ultrasound (3DfUS). 5. 5. Individualized Contractile Ankle Joint Muscular Properties in Healthy and Post-Stroke Subjects

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Hoor Jalo; [2019]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigated the contractile properties of the plantar-and dorsi-flexor muscles controlling the ankle joint. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the muscle strength and muscle architecture change after stroke, and how the muscle strength and architecture are correlated. LÄS MER
