  1. 1. Sediment transport and bathymetric change at Hornafjörður tidal inlet - Field data analysis and mathematical modeling

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Clemens Klante; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Coastal Inlet; Hornafjörður; Morphology; TELEMAC; ebb shoal; mathematical modeling; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Commercial fishing makes the coastal inlet in Hornafjörður to an important navigational link for the port of Höfn in southeast Iceland. Low water depth caused through sediment accumulation along the ebb shoal generates navigational problems and the phenomenon of glacial rebound seems to intensify this problem. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sediment transport and coastal evolution at Thuan An Inlet, Vietnam

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Eva-Lena Eriksson; Madeleine Hjertstrand Persson; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Thuan An; Hoa Duan; Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon system; lagoon; inlet; groin; longshore sediment transport; Thua Thien-Hue province; GENESIS; Huong River; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon is located outside of Hue in central Vietnam. Southeast of Thuan An inlet, one of the two inlets of the lagoon, a groin was constructed in 2008 as a measure to reduce the sediment transport to prevent the inlet from closing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. An Investigation of Exchange Rates in the Tam Giang-Cau Hai Lagoon System, Vietnam, through Hydrodynamic Modeling

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Michael Tushaj; [2009]
    Nyckelord :SMS; water exchange; engineering; Vietnam; Water Resources; lagoon; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon system, two inter-connected and naturally occurring coastal lagoons located in the Thua Thien-Hue province of Vietnam, comprises two inlets: Thuan An and Tu Hien. The Thuan An and Tu Hien inlets connect the lagoon system to the South China Sea and they are subjected to morphologic changes due to sediment transport effects. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hydrodynamic modelling and estimation of exchange rates for Bardawil Lagoon, Egypt. An investigation of governing forces and physical processes using numerical models.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Jonas Linnersund; Erik Mårtensson; [2008]
    Nyckelord :Fysisk geografi; climatology; cartography; Environmental studies; Miljöstudier; wind; water balance; tide; sediment transport; salt balance; renewal time; net intertidal volume; finite element; internal circulation; ADCIRC; CMS-Flow; Bardawil Lagoon; Physical geography; pedology; geomorphology; geomorfologi; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; Technological sciences; Teknik; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Bardawil Lagoon, a natural lagoon located on the northern coast of the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, there are three inlets of which two are man-made connecting the lagoon with the Mediterranean Sea. The inlets are subjected to changes in morphology, due to sediment transport, over time and this may lead to degrees of closure of either inlet. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Seasonal Closure of Chilaw Inlet in Sri Lanka -Physical Processes and Mathematical Modelling-

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Alexandra Angelbratt; Jon Klyft; [2007]
    Nyckelord :geomorfologi; Fysisk geografi; climatology; Chilaw inlet; Spit Evolution; Tidal inlets; Inlet Closure; klimatologi; kartografi; Sediment Transport; Mathematical Model; Physical geography; geomorphology; cartography; pedology; marklära; Technological sciences; Teknik; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Chilaw inlet, with the affiliated lagoon, is located on the west coast of Sri Lanka about 120 km north of the capital Colombo. Each year during the summer monsoon, which lasts from May to September, the inlet closes due to a sand spit forming across the inlet. LÄS MER
