  1. 11. SPATIO-TEMPORAL PATTERNS OF THE WOLF AND ITS PREY IN A MEDITERRANEAN AREA

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Giovanni Fini; [2022-08-29]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Starting from the 1970s, populations of top predators such as the wolf Canis lupushave been expanding across Europe thanks to the protective legislation andthe creation of many protected areas, the increased abundance of wild ungulates and other factors. The return of these animals can trigger significant consequences from the ecological as well as management points of view. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Temporal, climatic and spatial variation in the distribution and activity patterns of the raccoon (Procyon lotor) in Hainich National Park, Germany

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Maria Grüneberger; [2022]
    Nyckelord :raccoon; procyon lotor; hainich National Park; canopy Walk; camera trapping; nocturnality; ground temperature; habitat preference; european beech; fagus sylvatica; anthropogenic influence;

    Sammanfattning : The raccoon (Procyon lotor) has been a part of German fauna since the 1920s, following a number of releases and escapes from captivity. This study intends to investigate the distribution and activity patterns of this non-native mesopredator in Hainich National Park, which lies in Central Germany, in-between 3 core areas of established raccoon populations. 3. 13. What makes for a good location? : Terrain ruggedness and reindeer drive detection of Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) by camera traps in northern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Pablo Del Rio; [2022]
    Nyckelord :eurasian lynx; lynx lynx; camera trapping; large carnivore monitoring; västerbotten; habitat preference; reindeer predation;

    Sammanfattning : As all large carnivores in Europe, the Eurasian lynx’s presence in a landscape now dominated by human activities often leads to conflictual situations and management challenges. To overcome these issues, different monitoring programs are developed all over Europe to assess for the abundance and distribution of this elusive feline. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Wild bee species and farming practices in horticultural farms in Madrid : finding paths towards agroecological transitions

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Inés Gutiérrez Briceño; [2022]
    Nyckelord :wild bee; pollination; biodiversity; ecosystem services; landscape; mapping; semi-structured interview; agroecology;

    Sammanfattning : Farms and its different management practices have substantial effects on biodiversity, with the consequent impact on the supply of certain ecosystem services such us pollination. Wild bees provide pollination services in small scale horticultural farming, which is key element to determine and improve farm production but also to the maintenance of ecosystem´s diversity. 5. 15. Rotational Properties of Lee-Huang-Yang Bosonic Condensates from One to Two Dimensions

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Hjalmar Holmström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :BEC; Bose-Einstein condensate; quantum fluid; Quantum mechanics; LHY; LHY-fluid; Lee-Huang-Yang; Rotating BEC; BEC droplet; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the work of a numerical examination of the rotational properties of a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) utilizing the beyond mean-field extended Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a specified set of parameters. These parameters are chosen to cancel the strength of the mean-field interaction, which makes the system predominantly governed by the next order beyond the mean-field Lee-Huang-Yang (LHY) term.
