  1. 1. Cash Holdings, Secured Debt and Collateral

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Anton Wihlborg; Philip Dahl; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Corporate Cash Holdings; Secured Debt; Unencumbered Tangibility; Precautionary Motive; Financial Constraints; Business and Economics;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the relationship between unencumbered tangibility and cash holdings, and to evaluate if corporations consider them to be substitutable variables of corporate liquidity. The study relies on a panel data set and then employs a firm fixed effect regression model to estimate the strength and direction of the relationship of interest. LÄS MER

  2. 2. S-MARL: An Algorithm for Single-To-Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning : Case Study: Formula 1 Race Strategies

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Marinaro Davide; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Reinforcement Learning; Single-to-Multi-Agent; Learning Stability; Exploration-Exploitation trade-off; Race Strategy Optimization; Förstärkningsinlärning; Från en till flera agenter; Stabilitet vid inlärning; Utforskning-exploatering; Optimering av tävlingsstrategier;

    Sammanfattning : A Multi-Agent System is a group of autonomous, intelligent, interacting agents sharing an environment that they observe through sensors, and upon which they act with actuators. The behaviors of these agents can be either defined upfront by programmers or learned by trial-and-error resorting to Reinforcement Learning. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Impact of Quantum Computing on the Financial Sector : Exploring the Current Performance and Prospects of Quantum Computing for Financial Applications through Mean-Variance Optimization

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Produktionsekonomi

    Författare :Ante Fahlkvist; Alfred Kheiltash; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Quantum computing; Finance; Financial applications; Mean-variance optimization; Zero-one quadratic programming; Quantum computing in finance;

    Sammanfattning : Many important tasks in finance often rely on complex and time-consuming computations. The rapid development of quantum technology has raised the question of whether quantum computing can be used to solve these tasks more efficiently than classical computing. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Labour Demand Composition and Wage Responses in a Transition to a Clean Economy : A Case Study on the EU ETS

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Jeroen Boksebeld; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Environmental Economics; EU ETS; Labour market; Sustainable Transition; Deterministic Simulation; Economics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the effect on labour demand of a transition from an unconstrained economy featuring a ’clean’ and a ’dirty’ production method towards a fully clean economy, using a simplified General Equilibrium model. This model is calibrated to the European Union Emission Trading System (EUETS) and features a linear decline in a cap placed on the dirty production method. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Quantum Algorithms for Feature Selection and Compressed Feature Representation of Data

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :William Laius Lundgren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Feature selection; autoencoders; quantum machine learning; quantum circuits; quantum annealing; Funktionsval; datakompression; kvantmaskininlärning; kvantalgoritmer; kvantkretsar;

    Sammanfattning : Quantum computing has emerged as a new field that may have the potential to revolutionize the landscape of information processing and computational power, although physically constructing quantum hardware has proven difficult,and quantum computers in the current Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) era are error prone and limited in the number of qubits they contain.A sub-field within quantum algorithms research which holds potential for the NISQ era, and which has seen increasing activity in recent years, is quantum machine learning, where researchers apply approaches from classical machine learning to quantum computing algorithms and explore the interplay between the two.
