    Sammanfattning : Rare earth-doped upconversion nanoparticles can emit light with various wavelength from ultraviolet to infrared when excited by near-infrared light. The superior properties including long luminescence lifetime, narrow emission spectra, low toxicity and high chemical stability makes it a promising optical material in bioimaging and other applications.     Sammanfattning : In this report we studied the properties of the dye IR806 and possible mechanisms of the dye sensitization effect on ytterbium-erbium co-doped upconversion nanoparticles. We found that the dye IR806 has two primary emission peaks in the NIR spectral range at around 850 nm and at around 950 nm. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis report on an investigation into the applicability of mid-infrared degenerate four-wave mixing (IR-DWFM) as a method to detect N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames. DFWM has previously been used for concentration measurements on other molecules, but has never, to the author's knowledge, been applied to measure N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames before. LÄS MER
