  1. 1. A Structural Analysis of the Fracture Sets in Gothenburg, Sweden: A Remote Sensing and Manual Lineament Approach

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Jacek Krysik; [2023-05-22]
    Nyckelord :Remote sensing; Manual lineament analysis; Fractal analysis; Structural; Regional geology; LiDAR; Gothenburg region;

    Sammanfattning : The fracture-valley landscape within the Gothenburg region was analysed based on LiDAR-derived hillshade images as well as several sources of orthomosaics. Using a manual lineament interpretation approach and complimented with an objective fractal analysis software (FROST), the objective of the study was to characterise the regional fracture sets as well as attempt to link the sets to the complex regional geological history. 2. 2. Blended Finance and the Diffusion of Renewable Energy Innovation : An exploratory study on bridging the commercialization fundinggap of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Alma Berggren Ek; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Blended finance; climate finance; renewable energy investments; diffusion of innovation; Southeast Asia; Blandfinansiering; klimatfinansiering; förnyelsebar energi; Sydostasien;

    Sammanfattning : Blended finance has the past decade become an increasingly popular way for development banks in Southeast Asia to invest in renewable energy projects with the aim of mobilizing additional private investments. Although definitions of the method differ among stakeholders, blended finance is a way of blending development loans with below-market-rate funds to lower risks experienced by private investors. 3. 3. The Effects of Climate Change on Zirben (Pinus cembra) Distribution in the Italian Alps

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Nicholas Asplin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pinus Cembra; Tree line; Tree line shift; Alps; Climate change; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic climate change has caused temperature increases all across the globe. Mountainous areas are among the most affected and are experiencing alarming rates of warming. Such rapid warming will have effects on alpine vegetation and their distribution throughout the alps. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Surface crevasses on Svalbard: Spatial Distribution Analysis with Focus on the Lomonosovfonna Ice Cap

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Monika Hawrylak; [2021]
    Nyckelord :crevasses; spatial distribution; model; glacier velocity; Lomonosovfonna; Svalbard;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the formation mechanics of glacial crevasses is crucial in a variety of glacial applications. Besides being a serious safety hazard during field campaigns, crevasses influence calving rates, mass balance, and the hydrological network of glaciers. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Implications of a rapidly thinning ice-margin for annual moraine formation at Gornergletscher, Switzerland

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Lukas Rettig; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Recessional moraines; Ice-marginal processes; Glacier retreat; Glacial geomorphology; Glacial sedimentology; Alpine glaciers; Swiss Alps; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines genetic processes and climatological significance of annual moraine formation in the foreland of Gornergletscher, a large alpine-valley glacier located in the southern Swiss Alps. A particular focus is set on moraine ridges that have been forming between 2007 and 2019, a period when the glacier has been subject to accelerated retreat and pronounced frontal thinning. LÄS MER
