The objective is to detect, isolate and, if possible, identify the amino acids and the fatty acids in the protein and lipids used in the tempera, the ground, and the olifa using Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry. Evolon® CR offers an alternative to gels and tissue-gel composites, aiming to eliminate residue from gel thickening agents and the need for mechanical cleaning, while enabling the use of non-polar solvents in a bound form.
