    Sammanfattning : It has been previously shown that an increase in the relative value of tea increases female survival rate by enhancing their economic value. By combining contemporary district-level census data with historical data on tea production, in this paper I examine whether contemporary regional variations in gender disparities across India can be traced back to the tea production induced by the British East India Trading Company in the 19th century.     Sammanfattning : This paper investigates if educational attainment among females when they are young affects the incidence of child marriage. There is a general agreement that education delays the time of marriage and thus works as a protective factor against child marriage.     Sammanfattning : Using a panel of 18 European OECD countries over the period 1979-2011, this paper re-examines and extends previous empirical evidence on the effects of minority government on fiscal policy outcomes.
