1. Investigation of fuel and water injection in gas turbine combustion : Evaluate the methodologies available in Star CCM+ for modeling of water injection in simplified combustor using liquid and gas fuels
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningsläraSammanfattning : The negative impact of gas turbine emissions on the environment and human health is a growing concern. Recent studies suggest injecting water into the combustion process effectively reduces emissions and increases power output. However, this approach presents new challenges that need to be thoroughly investigated. LÄS MER
2. Gravity water waves over constant vorticity flows: from laminar flows to touching waves
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/MatematikcentrumSammanfattning : In a recent paper, Hur and Wheeler proved the existence of periodic steady water waves over an infinitely deep, two-dimensional and constant vorticity flow and subject to gravity whose profile overhangs, among which, waves whose surface touches at a point, enclosing a bubble of air. We take this further, proving the existence of a continuous curve of water waves from a laminar flow up to a touching wave for fixed non-zero gravity. LÄS MER
3. Polar mesoscale cyclones in ERA5 and CARRA
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : Polar mesoscale cyclones (PMCs) are low-pressure systems that form in polar regions. Their small size and short lifespan pose challenges for coarse resolution models in capturing PMCs and their associated air-sea mass and energy transfer. To address the influence of resolution on PMCs, a comparison between a higher resolution dataset (CARRA with 2. LÄS MER
4. Lid driven cavity flow using stencil-based numerical methods
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologiSammanfattning : In this report the regular finite differences method (FDM) and a least-squares radial basis function-generated finite differences method (RBF-FD-LS) is used to solve the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for the lid driven cavity problem. The Navier-Stokes equations is solved using stream function-vorticity formulation. LÄS MER
5. On the Interaction Between Electromagnetic, Gravitational, and Plasma Related Perturbations on LRS Class II Spacetimes
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : In this thesis, we investigate the interaction between electromagnetic, gravitational, and plasma related perturbations on homogeneous and hypersurface orthogonal Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) class II spacetimes. By using these spacetimes, which allow for the inclusion of a non-zero magnetic field, as backgrounds in a perturbative approach, we are able to see interactions between the electromagnetic and gravitational variables already to first order in the perturbations.
